Our Story
L. S. Curb Service has been in business for 23 strong years. We team with developers, engineers, and contractors to meet their goals and budget.
L.S. Curb Service, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Leaford and Yvonne Shakes with the vision of securing a better life for their family and providing a quality product at a fair price. L.S. Curb Service began as a small concrete contractor with 4 employees and has become one of the largest concrete contractors in the South West Florida nearing 100 employees.
L.S. Curb Service began initially only installing Type “D” Trench Curb and has grown to include all concrete installation services such as Slip Forming, Flatwork, Hand Formed Curb, Structures, Walls, Weirs and Pervious Paving. L.S. Curb Service, Inc. – Your Concrete Curb Specialists
Meet Our Team
Leaford Shakes
President/Owner
32 years’ experience in concrete industry with 23 of the 32 years being President/Owner of L.S. Curb Service. Born and educated in Jamaica, moved the United States in 1986 and began his career in the concrete industry. “My word is my bond” and “And do unto others as you have them do unto you” are the words that I live by.
Lynwood Harkins
Senior Field Supervisor
Lynwood Harkins is the senior field supervisor of L.S. Curb Service. Lynwood consults regularly with L.S. Curb’s clients, engineers, and surveyors to ensure that the product provided by L.S. Curb is on time and completed correctly. He is well versed in all aspect of FDOT specifications and is our lead supervisor on the some of our most difficult tasks we face daily. His past experiences are not only in the concrete field but other construction applications like road work and survey as well. With over 33 years of experience his knowledge he brings to L.S. Curb Service is second to none. He is a valuable member to our team.
Collymore Bulgin
Field Supervisor
Collymore is a field supervisor of L.S. Curb Service. Collymore also consults regularly with L.S. Curb’s clients, engineers, and surveyors to ensure that the product provided daily by L.S. Curb is on time and completed correctly. Collymore originally hails from Jamaica and while newer to the Tampa Bay area Collymore has quickly learned the local government and private project specifications to help L.S. with more supervision in the field. He is becoming well versed in all aspect of structural concrete and road building. Collymore faces some of the difficult challenges we face with vigor and the clients best interest at heart. His past experiences are not only in the concrete field but other construction applications like owning his own concrete company, mining and international sales of various types. With over 12 years of experience in the construction industry his eclectic knowledge of the field brings another level to L.S. Curb Service that is second to none.
Robbie Hayward
Estimator
Robbie is the estimator at L.S. Curb Service. Robbie is the tip of the spear providing our clients a complete and accurate take off and proposal for the concrete solutions L.S. Curb provides. He regularly value engineers with L.S. Curb’s clients to ensure that the proposals provided by L.S. Curb are on time and at the best possible prices with no hidden charges. Robbie has been an integral part of L.S. Curb for more than 6 years. His past experiences are not limited to concrete alone but he also has experience as an estimator for a civil construction company as well. This helps with the understanding of our clients’ needs and the bidding of our work knowing our clients expectations and the different mobilizations required to build their projects in the field. With over 16 years of experience the knowledge Robbie brings to L.S. Curb Service is a valuable asset.
